Agave Zwolf

Blue agave and tequila have a deep connection with Mexican culture. In 2006, UNESCO declared the Tequila region in Jalisco as a World Heritage Site due to its agave landscape and its history in the production of this drink.

In addition to tequila production, blue agave is used to make other products such as agave syrup, fibers for textiles, and medicinal products.

The cultivation of blue agave is subject to sustainability practices, since its long life cycle and the environmental impact of the crop have led to initiatives to guarantee its preservation and the health of local ecosystems.

The pilot test started with 15,000 Agave shoots planted in 3 hectares in July 2022.
